With the maiden name of Love, how could I not write romance? My first love was Tarzan of the Apes. My thirteen-year-old heart beat faster when Tarzan fought the alpha-gorilla for Jane. I didn’t really understand the thrill I got from reading this very primal scene, but now I do. However, romance fell by the wayside until college. It was then a roommate introduced me to regency novels by Georgette Heyer. I was hooked. Being a voracious reader, I went through every new author I could find, devouring Harlequins by the bag full. One day I decided to try writing what I liked. It was horrid. Still, I wanted to write. There was no one to teach me how, so I read
more and more, learning from my favorite authors. My husband Dennis pointed out an article in a
local newspaper about a new writers group forming in the area and I was off and
running. I live in western Missouri with my husband and our cat Spook, who thinks he actually owns the house. We're just the servants who came with the property. I'm a former chef, and my hobbies include sewing, belly dancing, acting, and playing video games with a vengeance.
